Eaten here twice in the last month or two. Great food both times. Today was exceptional in service and food. I had an omelette. It was large and good, but my brother and father had breakfast burritos. They were huGEEE. Big enough to feed a Bear!!... OH, uh, never mind that last part!
They both loved em. I forgot to take a picture...so i'll describe it...Ok, take a burrito...your basic looking burrito...and now make it uh, well, HUGE, with cheese and salsa all melted over the top. It was stuffed with your choice of meat, cheese, potatoes etc....
This review seems so short compared to my other reviews...This is a good thing...hey, go figure, I had nothing to complain about!! -

Basic and bland. This is the type of restaurant that is going to become extinct because it hasn't kept up with the times. The portions are fine and the service is decent but that's about it.
All the food looks and feels like something you would get somewhere else and is of lesser quality.
With how many places go out of business in the Simi Valley and Moorpark area, one has to wonder how this place is still open. What I'm saying is that there is nothing special about this place to stand out. My family each had something different.
Burger was a basic burger. Waffle was hard and flavorless. Turkey Sandwich was of average quality but the toast was overly hard almost like it was made with stale bread.
If I had to describe this place it would be as a lower end Denny's. As someone who grew up in Jersey, the home of the diner, this place is honestly a one star diner but I'm giving it two because the service and portion sizes.
Truth be told, it is only a matter of time before the Black Bear Diner which is located directly across the street will take over and close this place down. The service there may not be as quick as it is here but the taste and quality is so much better than anything my family ate here at First Street. -

This little diner often goes unnoticed. Especially now that black bear diner is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. But this is really good quality food for a really reasonable price!
I had their bacon and eggs (sunny side) with hash browns. The potatoes were the perfect mixture of crispy and mushy. The eggs were basted, not necessarily sunny side, but they were delicious nonetheless.and the bacon was crispy and fatty.
Robby had the Belgium waffle. They had a deal going on for it advertised at our table. It was sweet and soft and crunchy and gooey. I loved the little bites I took.
Our friend Jeff had their French toast combo. It looked like a good amount of food. He got his eggs sunny side and two strips of bacon. I haven't had French toast in quite some time. This was perfect. It was just the right texture and amount of sweetness and cinnamon. -

So this is right around the corner from where I am working from today and we decided to give
It a try. As I always say, great service is worth an extra star for sure. We walked in and were immediately seated. Drink orders were taken immediately and specials were highlighted at the same time. There is a nice menu selection for breakfast with both healthy choices and the usual high calorie suspects including chorizo, biscuits and gravy and a selection of burritos. I am eating "clean" so turkey sausage, egg whites and fruit for me and my friends ordered more fun food. Everyone said the food was fine for cafe food. Match that with good service and a convenient location and you have a really nice experience! -

Just an okay breakfast place. Food is bland and the service is fine. I was hoping this place would have great biscuits and gravy but sadly it doesn't
